New regulations on China’s automobile exports in 2026

Regarding new vehicles:

Implement export license management. Only automobile manufacturing enterprises or their authorized operating enterprises are eligible to apply, and OEM exports are prohibited.

Regarding used cars:

1. Vehicles applying for export must meet the condition of having been registered for at least 180 days;
2. Standardize the application process for export licenses;
3. Strengthen compliance review for the export of modified vehicles;
